Stuff I'm trying to read right now!

  • The Monarchy of England Vol 1

Her indoors got me this book for Crimble and I promptly forgot I had it. Watching the TV series showed me how little my education had actually taught me about our history, this is some small way to correcting that omission.

  • River Cottage Cookbook

    image

It's Hugh. It's cooking. What could go wrong?

  • Meat

    cover

Hugh Fearnley-Wassname with his take on meat. Stop that sniggering at the back.

  • The Great Deception

    cover

Christopher Booker & Richard North present the history and origins of the EU project. A continental take-over and destruction of proud nation states laid bare. A challenging read, but a must read for the truth of the EU.

  • Guns & Violence: The English Experience

Guns & Violence: The English Experience

A history of gun control and violence in England from medieval to present day.

    What's in my CD player

    • A Hot Piece of Grass

      Hayseed Dixie

The latest offering from Hayseed Dixie. If I'm brutal I'd maybe say not as good as "Let there be rockgrass" but it's still pretty good. The usual mix of covers and classics with Dixisation. Worth a listen for sure

  • Let There Be Rockgrass

    image

    Hayseed Dixie

An incredible fusion of Bluegrass and "Cockrock". Combines classics from the likes of AC-DC, Queen, The Darkness and Motorhead with deep south sounds. Also includes a few of their own cuts including the genius named "I'm keeping your poop". A refreshing change from the usual fodder.

  • You are the Quarry

    You are the Quarry

    Morrissey

It starts badly with "America is Not the World" which is lyrically pants, but sounding good. The rest of it though is very much Mozza for the modern times. Worth a listen.

With the bullshit talked this week about some overpaid ponces mincing around after a ball, this came to mind.

    Politicians in bent shocker

You call yourselves a Parliament. You are no Parliament; I say you are no Parliament! You are whoremasters and drunkards, corrupt and unjust men, how can you be a Parliament for God’s People? Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!

    Nothing much changes does it?
The only surprise is that anyone is surprised how deep these snouts were in the trough.  That disgusting vile jimmy twat, no not Gordon, Gorbals Mick has been fighting hard for years to keep MPs expenses under wraps and clearly this was not because of any confidentiality or security bollocks.
Our slimey political class treat the populous with breathtaking contempt in the chamber by ignoring our wishes for such trifles as a say in our sovereignty, our freedoms under Magna Carta and Bill of Rights - so what’s a few bob in expenses eh?
This talk of paying money back should in no way hand them a get out of jail free card, they should still be hung drawn and quartered.

    Lucky Mancs

How the mancs must be jumping with joy

Manchester will this autumn become the first city where people can sign up for an ID card, Jacqui Smith has said.

    from the BBC
Despite all the evidence to the contrary, and glaring obvious common sense, the mad cow still insists:

“ID cards will deliver real benefits to everyone, including increased protection against criminals, illegal immigrants and terrorists,”

The scary thing is, I think the dumb bitch actually believes it.

    Jackboot whitewash coming

So, hands up who thinks the thugs in uniform will be charged for manslaughter or GBH?
A smattering?  Wouldn’t be the farm on it.
OK, lets assume that they are charged.  Hands up all those who think they’ll get convicted?
    Anyone?
    Nope, me neither.
Charges certainly should follow and from what we can see (not necessarily the full picture of course) then they should be convicted.
Further all those who wore balaclavas and removed their numbers should be sacked.  All those Sergeants who failed to ensure those under their command did not attempt to disguise their identities should be sacked.
It is absolutely unacceptable for our police to behave like the paramilitary boot boy one sees abroad, we expect a higher standard over here.
I’ve heard a few knobs saying how these G20 types deserved a kicking.  Perhaps.  Certainly I don’t expect to find much common ground with them, I expect no few of them to be strangers to personal hygiene, virtually all of them likely to be muesli munching, yoghurt knitters who like nothing better than a bit of Guardian reading.  This does not mean that the State machinery can set about them with violence.

    Communists in vile scum shocker

Why is anyone even slightly surprised by the so-called SmearGate?
All politicians are vile scum, this we know.  We also know that the left wing are much more predisposed to use lies, personal attacks, innuendo and violence to achieve their goals.  These self righteous slime believe that the end justifies the means, however heinous the means.  This can be anything from Stalin’s murderous purges to vote rigging.  They truly see nothing wrong with it so long as it advances their cause.
These bastards can call themselves progressives, liberal (in the American political spectrum sense or Liberal Democrats), socialists, Fabians or whatever.  The fact is that they are all vile scum whose inherently flawed political ideals fail, fail and fail again.  Despite this they are blind to the reality, they are sure that they are so much cleverer than the last lot who tried it or that if only a slightly different approach was taken then success would be assured.  When failure inevitably comes they are quick to blame it on ‘the last lot’ regardless of how many years it is since ‘the last lot’ were in charge.  Just look at how many of these deluded individuals still blame ‘Thatcher’ for all the ills that, ironically, their own policies are responsible for.  They point to the ‘failure’ of capitalism, yet it is interesting how capitalism seems to fail when socialism is the driving force.  When misguided ‘caring conservatives’ enact socialism in an attempt to out do-good the do-gooders.

    Bah

Just got back from a wee reccy at the bunnies, not much around but I did get a clean shot at one.  I guessed it to be around 50 odd yards, so lined up for the brain shot.  Supersonic crack of the 17hmr was very much not accompanied by the dull thud of fast moving lead hitting flesh and bone.  Hmm.  Still, brer rabbit didn’t seem too bothered.  Perhaps it was a pulled shot, or maybe some residual oil in the barrel.  So another go with the same result, except this time he decides not to hang around.  It’s been a while since I dusted the rifle down so I’ll have to check zero before I take it out again.  Practiced a bit of stalking and got within easy range of some fryers but didn’t try for the shot on account of the unexplained miss.  Also saw a hare, which was nice.

    Jackbooted Thugs

Footage here of some hard man in riot gear shoving a chap in the back whilst he walks past with his hands in his pockets.  What a fucking big man.
Hardly the first time we’ve seen the police indulging in wanton violence in the name of policing protests in London.  Brings to mind the actions at the protests against the Hunting with Dogs farce.
Of course blah blah blah most coppers yakkity schmakity.....
There is no doubt that there are coppers who take advantage of their position and situation to visit violence on whomever they can.  It is the duty of their colleagues to ensure that these scum are hung out to dry as the brainless thugs that they are.  By not speaking out they are complicit in these acts of wanton state sanctioned thuggery.

    Get stuck in my son!

Text of Daniel Hannan MEP’s words to Gordon The Moron in the EU ‘parliament’ as seen on his You Tube site

Prime Minister, I see you’ve already mastered the essential craft of this Parliament – that being to say one thing in this chamber, and a very different thing to your home electorate. You’ve spoken here about free trade, and amen to that; who would have guessed, listening to you just now, that you were the author of the phrase ‘British Jobs for British Workers’, and that you have subsidised - where you have not nationalised outright - swathes of our economy, including the car industry and many of the banks.

Perhaps you would have more moral authority in this house if your actions matched your words. Perhaps you would have more legitimacy in the councils of the world if the United Kingdom were not going into this recession in the worst condition of any G20 country.

The truth, Prime Minister, is that you have run out of our money. The country as a whole is now in negative equity. Every British child is born owing around £20,000. Servicing the interest on that debt is going to cost more than educating the child.

Now once again today you tried to spread the blame around, you spoke about an international recession; an international crisis. Well, it is true that we are all sailing together into the squall – but not every vessel in the convoy is in the same dilapidated condition. Other ships used the good years to caulk their hulls and clear up their rigging – in other words, to pay off debt – but you used the good years to raise borrowing yet further. As a consequence, under your captaincy, our hull is pressed deep into the water line, under the accumulated weight of your debt. We are now running a deficit that touches almost 10% of GDP – an unbelievable figure. More than Pakistan, more than Hungary – countries where the IMF has already been called in.

Now, it’s not that you’re not apologising - like everyone else, I’ve long accepted that you’re pathologically incapable of accepting responsibility for these things these things - it’s that you’re carrying on, wilfully worsening the situation, wantonly spending what little we have left. Last year, in the last twelve months, 125,000 private sector jobs have been lost – and yet you’ve created 30,000 public sector jobs. Prime Minister you cannot go on forever squeezing the productive bit of the economy in order to fund an unprecedented engorging of the unproductive bit.

You cannot spend your way out of recession or borrow your way out of debt. And when you repeat, in that wooden and perfunctory way, that our situation is better than others, that we’re well place to weather the storm, I have to tell you, you sound like a Brezhnev-era Apparatchik giving the party line. You know, and we know, and you know that we know that it’s nonsense. Everyone knows that Britain is the worst placed to go into these hard times. The IMF has said so. The European Commission has said so. The markets have said so, which is why our currency has devalued by 30% – and soon the voters, too, will get their chance to say so.

They can see what the markets have already seen: that you are a devalued Prime Minister, of a devalued Government.

Why isn’t this been said by the mainstream politicians in Blighty?  Why isn’t that soapy fat faced statist ponce Cameron and his vacuous sidekick masquerading as shadow Chancellor shouting this from the roof tops every day?
Possibly the most saddening and disturbing thing is that the half blind jimmy moron thought the whole thing a jolly jape.  Just look at the slack jawed bastards grin.

    CA - sneaky underhand bastards

I’ve a lot of admiration for the CA, they’ve really stepped up to the plate in the last few years and become a real force.
Today I don’t have a single good word for them.
I received a letter from them regarding some fund raising lark, no problem there, however they tell me that if I don’t tell them not to then they will take £15 from my account using my existing direct debit mandate!  What?  That there Direct Debit is for my subs, not everytime you want a few bob.  And making it an opt out not an opt in is beyond fucking disgusting, this is a quite cynical attempt to raise cash through people’s forgetfullness or the tardiness of the Royal Mail.
I’m not quite mad enough to cancel my membership but I’m definitely cancelling my direct debit mandate.

    Stalag Britain

Just when you think that the government has gone as far as it dares in snooping and surveillance, just when you feel that they can’t quite get more statist than they all ready are they pull one right out of the bag.
So it seems that we must tell Big Brother if we plan to leave the shores, at least 24 hours in advance.  This apparently includes fishermen or sailors who wish to go outside territorial waters.  Under pain of a 5k fine.
    Chuffing hell!
We practically have to beg to leave the shores.  Does this not put one in mind of Stalinist Russia, the USSR?
Of course we are told it’s for our own good.  It’s not us they need to keep tabs on, it’s those nasty brown terrorist chappies.  Only we can’t apparently just keep tabs on actual scum, we have to watch all the freeborn Englishmen.  Nothing to hide, nothing to fear no doubt.
So, because of a largely inflated fear of terrorism, we must be tracked.  Family emergency?  Urgent business abroad?  Tough shit.  You need to wait 24 hours pal.
Absolutely bloody disgusting.  There are really no lengths that this disgusting vile government will not go to, no depths they will not plumb to keep tabs on us.

    UKIP savaged by Robin Page

Piece in the Telegraph today by Robin Page about the mess that is now UKIP.

The UK Independence Party has been corrupted by the high life on the euro gravy train and is run as the personal fiefdom of its leader Nigel Farage, a high-profile former member has claimed.

Couldn’t agree more, the leadership is focussed on the EU parliament and the business of signing in to get their pay cheques when they should have been using their positions as a platform to raise the party profile and get the message out.  Instead of using the money and position to widen the party from a single issue beast they seem to be more obsessed with navel gazing.
Farage runs the party like a dictatorship, dissent and you’re gone.

It seems that Nigel Farage has managed to obtain almost complete centralised power of Ukip. Other late nominations were apparently accepted, some people heading MEP lists have been forced out to be replaced by others and three members of Ukip’s National Executive Council were expelled for criticising the leader. Other high-profile Ukip members have also been removed over the years, so as not to threaten Farage’s control or image. The party’s own policies – such as opposition to GM crops – have been reversed without the membership knowing, including me. Stories from Brussels suggest that Ukip’s MEPs have come to love the high life of gravy and status. The party created to fight centralised government, sleaze and corruption has become a mirror image of the body it professes to loathe. The grassroots of Ukip are good people, but their party has been stolen from them by their executive

Farage threw a hissy over Sean Gabb speaking at a regional conference and effectively pushed me old mucka Gregg Beaman from the top slot of the NW EU election list.  The party went from libertarian leaning to authoritarian in just a couple of years, witness the silence over that twat Spink voting for internment.  These are the reasons I couldn’t remain a member anymore and went to the Libertarian Party.

Elisabeth Beckett, a loss to the cause of freedom

I recently learned that Elisabeth Beckett died this month following a battle with leukemia.  It is always somewhat of a shock to hear of the death of someone so formidable, even though it comes to us all.
I first encountered Miss Beckett at a meeting alongside Richard North where she spoke of the primacy of Magna Carta and our Bill of Rights.  Her knowledge of our constitution was impressive, as was her lack of fear in communicating the truth to those who would rather not have heard it.

Below an extract from a letter she sent to Her Maj

At your coronation you swore on oath to rule this country according to our laws and customs. This contract with us was written clearly in Magna Carta and replicated by Edward I in 1274. After saying that he would give no such oath, the archbishops, bishops, barons and freemen said that, in this case, they would get another king.
In Magna Carta it was made clear that if the monarch went against this oath then chapter 61 would apply, the contract would be broken and the monarch would have to give up his position and possessions. You have, throughout your reign, disregarded our laws and customs in the legislation that has gone through Parliament.

We have lost a formidable warrior for the cause of freedom.
    Full letter below the fold.

    The People’s Fat Ugly Chav

Interesting how that particularly unpleasant vile racist pig Jade Goody has become a media darling now she’s about to die.  I wouldn’t wish her illness on anyone (except for perhaps anyone in Government or working for same, Guardian readers, Lib Dems, that twat from Cold Play, Russell Brand.  OK, there’s lots of people I’d wish a horrible painful death on.  Sue me.) but it doesn’t change who she is.  Which is an unpleasant ugly horror who made a bloody fortune being that fat dumb minger from Big Brother.
Let’s have less about her ‘brave struggle’, and let’s not forget that she probably wouldn’t be dying now if she’d taken notice of her doctors ages ago.  She seems to becoming the new Diana.
A good post on Old H originally from The Diary of a Geek in Oxford.
I see too that the slack jawed moron masquerading as our Prime Minister has got in on the act:

“I wish her well and I wish her family well, and I know that the whole country will be worried and anxious about her health.”

Worried and anxious?  You having a laugh?  Worried and anxious about the economy maybe, but not whether some racist retard is dying or not.  Haven’t you got some stuff to be doing Gordon?  You know, like fixing the economy that you managed to fuck up?
I wonder if he’ll do ‘a Blair’ when she finally does pop her clogs?  Teary eyed statements about the People’s Chav?

    Sea Eagle In Cumbria

There is much controversy regarding the proposed ‘reintroduction’ of the sea eagle in Norfolk, however it looks like sea eagles are doing their own reintroduction on the Cumbrian coast.
    From the local rag:

Fisherman Colin Murray couldn’t believe his eyes when he looked out at the Solway from his garden and spotted a giant eagle on the sands.

Had I seen it then I would have assumed it was a Golden too.
    What a beast.
