European Onion

Just stumbled across European Onion, doesn’t seem to be an anti-EU site per se but of course in the style of The Onion the political establishment (and therefore the EU in a large measure) gets the pissed ripped out.  I’ve yet to be convinced that it is actually funny, but my attention was drawn to a particular post which shows yet more proof of what a lying scumbag Anthony Lyndon Blair really is.  As can be seen from the image below Our Beloved Leader tells us what a fan he is of The Project and always has been, yet his promo leaflet from the 1983 Sedgefield election says that a negotiated withdrawal is necessary to save jobs and resource.
Anyone is of course entitled to change their minds, he could have believed what he was saying then and ‘come to his senses’ but to claim he has always been pro-European means he is either lying then or lying now.  There is a get out clause of course.  My Little Tony could say that pro-European and anti-E.E.C. are not mutually exclusive, Europe being the continent and E.E.C. being the political body.  And of course he would be correct, this is also my position, however the Federalists rarely make a distinction between the two.  They deliberately blur the dividing line such that they can declare pro-independence supporters as racist or xenophobes.
Alternatively he could say that the E.E.C. is dead and gone and the current E.U. more represents his vision of Europe.  Again he would technically have some basis for saying this, but the E.E.C. was merely the stepping stone from the Common Market to the E.U. just as the E.U. is a stepping stone from the E.E.C. to the United States of Europe or even the European Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Conclusion?  Whichever way you cut it, Blair is a lying traitorous scumbag who would sell his granny for a spoonfull more of power.
