Ofsted say more teachings on the British Empire
Not so very long ago in my piece Schools - Day Release Prison for Children? I suggested that:
Schools in my experience have been the training bed for “good citizens”, which in this context means converts to the EU and supporters of socialism. You can bet your ass that the Magna Carta and thie Bill of Rights won’t be taught and presented in their true context, if mentioned at all it will be as a strange historical curio.
Now we find that schools are being rightly criticised for not including content about the British Empire, and that if it is mentioned at all it is from a negative viewpoint mentioning only things such as slavery or whatever. Have a toddle over to The England Project where JohnJo picks out some choice quotes from some in the education system, which pretty much confirm my point regarding brainwashing children into being acolytes for the EU project.
Chris McGovern, the director of the History Curriculum Association, who has advised the Government on history teaching, said: “What is being taught in schools is the empire as a means of promoting a guilt complex.
“There is only an interest in it if it can be shown as part of social education, to show injustice. The British Empire is used to illustrate social injustice.
“The dominant textbooks are not promoting knowledge of the empire. They are promoting fiction about the empire.” Children learned about the likely experiences of soldiers’ or sailors’ wives but not about Clive of India.
In other words, the history of the British Empire is being cherry picked to advance a socialist agenda and your children are being fed this nonsense. Think on this next time you hear how much of your money Gordon Brown is spending on this cesspit of socialist liberalism.
