Georgia
Oh blimey. What to do?
Clearly the Ruskies have embarked on war agin Georgia because it suits their interests to do so. We should perhaps not get too high on our horses about this, countries look after their interests and sometimes this means fisticuffs. We are hardly unexperienced in this department. We are in no position to do anything but bluster, even if we weren’t overstretched militarily are we really going to get into a scrap with Russia? ‘course not.
However this is (yet another) reminder that Russia is far from a spent force and is not shy of using it’s muscle when it suit. So exactly how sensible is it for us to rely on this place and it’s sattelites for our gas? Powering not only our household boilers but a fair old number of our power stations?
Not at all sensible I’d suggest.
