Silly Tossers

I was extremely dissapointed, though not terribly surprised, to find that some crusty old twats in UKIP have spat their dummy over Sean Gabb.
It seems Sean spoke at a southern regional conference and was well received, Sean was impressed by the attitude of many of the people he met.  It was even suggested that Sean stand for UKIP in the EU elections.  Sean wrote how this was inappropriate and listed some of the reasons why.  These included his position on the illegality of ‘hard’ drugs and indecent images of children.
So let’s just pause and consider this for a moment.  Sean ruled himself out of an association with UKIP partly because of the negative reaction in the media to his positions on some laws.
What happens now?  Crusty old twats are up in arms about Sean’s position on those laws.  Excuse me? Baking powder?  Jesus fucking H Christ.
You will struggle anywhere to get more than a bare handful of people who agree on absolutely every single point, this is especially true in political parties where one would think that some form of consensus would be possible.  So we need to be adult enough to get fucking over this.  Apparently this is not possible in UKIP.
I’m a UKIP member and will likely remain so despite my sympathy with the Libertarian Party (who also have had people spit their dummy over some issues like gun control), but sometimes I despair at the attitudes of some of the silly old fuckers.  Why do I stay?  In part because I know that this is true of all the parties and in part because I know that the Libertarian Party’s message is just too much to swallow in one bite for the UK voting public.
