The End Of My Gun Culture?

Just had a visit from two uniformed officers.  Reason?  My firearms renewal, but more significantly this blog.  It seems that my crappy little corner of the blogosphere has come to the attention of the police, and they don’t like it.  Specifically mentioned was the piece regarding the British Association of Women in Policing, where the woman wanted smaller guns for women officers, this didn’t go down well apparently despite my admission in the piece that my comments were flippant

Alright so I’m being flippant, a gun should fit the hand of the user and some guns are thicker gripped than others.  Guns are available with interchangeable grips which might be a help.

I’ve a horrible feeling that this is going to result in my renewals being declined.  What to do?  Close the blog?  No point, they already have print outs of what they don’t like.  I’m getting a sense of what Kim felt when his blog resulted in him being unemployable.  The officers (who were very polite) were quick to point out that they couldn’t force me to remove posts or dictate my freedom of speech but the fact is that I am being watched.  Which makes me feel very uncomfortable, like a suspect rather than a citizen.
Of course we should expect firearms applicants websites to be checked, imagine if Hamilton or Ryan had blogs - I can’t imagine they’d be very normal somehow and perhaps that might have seen their licences revoked.  Doesn’t stop me feeling uncomfortable though.  I feel like Winston Smith
