Thug Policeman Cleared
Well I didn’t need a crystal ball when I predicted that Pc Latteman would be cleared of the unprovoked assault of Mark Faulkner at the Hunt Protests.
The Present Occupier points me to the story today that the case has been dismissed.
Judge Workman said: “He clearly maintained he was acting to assist the arrest and used an approved technique which he insisted were necessary in the circumstances.
“I cannot be sure that the defendant was lying when giving his evidence that he was acting lawfully in striking Mr Faulkner, therefore the case is dismissed.”
Was the video which allegedly shows the assault even screened?
Mr Faulkner was at the front of the protest when he was hit twice by a police officer with a baton, causing him to fall and lose consciousness.
He was then pulled from the crowd for an alleged breach of peace and pushed against a police van when the incident with Pc Latteman took place.
Had this scenario been played out in a civilian environment - let us assume for a moment that a thug attacks you. You strike the thug twice, rendering him unconcious. If you were then to further attack him then you would have crossed the line from self-defence to premeditated assault. The immediate threat has been removed and your are now exacting revenge. Ignoring for the moment the question over Mr Faulkner actually causing an initial threat, this is exactly what happened here. PC Thug has attacked an already injured man. Because he can, and because he knows he will get away with it.
Nice to see the BBC remind us of the then Thug-in-chief Stevens
Televised scenes of bloody protesters prompted criticism of police tactics but former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir John Stevens defended his officers, saying “nobody got cracked over the head for no reason”.
These events remind us just how far removed the police are from what a police service should be, they have become Stormtroopers enforcing Imperial will and immune from accountability in the courts.

I hope Mr Faulkner will persue a civil case against this thug.
